Selling Old computers? or, Need used computers for teaching poor?

written on: December 24, 2005

If you have an old computer which is not fetching much money, but you have to do away with it as scrap, then consider donating it to an organization which refurbishes these computers and gives to the needy poor..

HP-01-Kenya.jpgYou can find a local NGO who can do it.. or donate the old machine to the professionals in this kind of charity, "Computer Aid International"

You can visit their website to find information on:

1. starting something like them.
2. Ask them for old, but cleaned and tested computers, which you will use in teaching the poor in your local.
3. or, as I said before, to donate your old computer to them.

st-theresa-back.jpgComputer Aid international is in the UK. If you are not in UK, then you probably find a similar organization in your place, or if you can bear the packaging and transporting costs, send your computers to them in the UK.

Computer Aid International have been doing this charity in an organized manner for many years. They disassemble all computers they receive, clean them up, choose the highest configurations they have got so that the machines can be used for a few more years at schools, and then send it needy organizations which request their help. African schools in Nigeria, kenya, etc., are all kudos for this organization as they are now able to give computer education to their poor children to make them more employable.
