Government Agencies doing good - In India Tourism
written on: April 3, 2005
Continuing on my thoughts with my previous blog (yesterday's), I wanted to put up another interesting thing my parents explored in their tour to Bihar and Orrissa last week.
Planning for their tour, my parents took the not so interesting route.. to register with local government run tourism offices wherever they went, and get guidance on transport, stay and tourist spots from these agencies.
These agencies showed decent hospitality, they were also surprisingly !Free! on their consultation, and my parents had to only spend for their tickets, accomodation, and food expenses. These expenses were very low since they were routed through government agencies, in lieu of promoting tourism.
My parents almost toured the two states for a week at almost 70% lesser than what it would have costed if they hadn't considered the government tourism agencies.
That was definitely news to people like me, who has had pretty bad experiences with government agencies for they delay things especially until they are bribed. Good news.
